The Rīga Conference Lecture Series begins with a “Lecture on Belarus” by Dr. Aliaksei Kazharski
On December 2nd the Rīga Conference Lecture Series began with a “Lecture on Belarus” by Dr. Aliaksei Kazharski, Researcher at the Institute of European Studies and International Relations of the Comenius University, Lecturer at the Department of Security Studies of Charles University in Prague.
In the lecture Dr. Aliaksei Kazharski highlighted the historical background of the situation in Belarus, described Lukashenko’s Belarus and why it is considered a Liminal player in Europe, explained the 2020 Belarus awakening and lastly – named some possible future scenarios. The lecture ended with a lively debate with the audiences questions.
