Secretary General of LATO Sigita Struberga participates in a discussion entitled “Comprehensive State Protection – COVID-19 analysis and training”
On September 4, in the framework of the Conversation Festival LAMPA, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia organised a discussion entitled “Comprehensive State Protection – Covid-19 analysis and training”, in which Dr Artis Pabriks, Defence Minister of Latvia, Mārtiņš Baltmanis, Deputy Head of State Fire and Rescue Service, Jānis Vanags, Archbishop of Riga in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia, and Sigita Struberga, Secretary General of the Latvian Transatlantic Organization and a teacher and researcher of the Department of Political Science of the University of Latvia.
The discussion highlighted several points about how different institutions engaged in crisis management and what our training for future crises are. Moreover, the participants discussed the subjective perception of the security of Latvian citizens and what threats such a situation can pose to national security.
