Discussion: A Hot-Cold Summer of the Baltic Sea Region
On September 13, 2021, the Ministers of Defence of Estonia, Lithuania and Poland arrived to Latvia, in order to attend the guest day of the Land Force Mechanised Infantry Brigade’s Military Training “Namejs 2021”, as well as to discuss regional security issues together with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Jānis Garisons.
During the visit, the Ministers of Defence of Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Latvia participated in a discussion organised by the Latvian Transatlantic Organisation, where they discussed the military exercise “Zapad 2021”, hybrid threats, as well as cooperation between NATO and EU Member States in the Baltic Sea region. The discussion was moderated by Žaneta Ozoliņa, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Transatlantic Organization.
