Mission
Who we are?
Latvian Transatlantic Youth Club (abbreviated - LTYC) is a non - governmental organisation, which brings together young people - students from high schools and universities who support and are ready to facilitate Latvia`s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The club is a democratic and open organisation that is within reach for everyone who is interested in and who is ready to make input for the sake of the common goals of the organisation.
Aims of LTYC
LTYC has been established to:
- Facilitate Latvia`s membership in NATO,
- Inform the society about NATO and Latvia`s potentialities from membership,
- Discuss the role of NATO at present situation and in the future, facilitate exchange of ideas and opinions, and to form variety of opinions about the security and defense issues, about threats and their prevention,
- Facilitate and strengthen the Latvia`s place in the global security system,
- Facilitate a stable and integrated society that would base its values on highly moral grounds,
- Develop the intellectual and professional skills of the members of the Club, facilitate their ability for access to new information and knowledge,
- Provide all the willing members of the Club with possibilities to take part at the projects realized by the Club thus enhancing the organizational skills of the members,
- Reach a high recognition and authority of the Club within the society.
Tasks of LTYC
In order to achieve its goals the LTYC:
- Organizes seminars and conferences,
- Holds different competitions for youth from all regions of Latvia,
- Organises interactive events for high-school students,
- Actively co-operates with mass media.
