Security - for independent Latvia. NATO will uphold its commitment to Latvia as any other member.

Never will our homeland, be marred by footsteps of unfriendly powers and never will our people be forced to leave their homes to seek refuge in foreign lands. Our development and prosperity has a secure foundation - our independence and freedom.
Professional army - the Latvian Armed Forces will be professional and well equipped and its soldiers - our men, sons and brothers - will bring us pride.
Economic prosperity - a secure and stable country fosters investment inflow, faster development, more jobs and prosperity throughout Latvia.
Justice - NATO stands for justice, democracy and human rights throughout the globe. As part of NATO, Latvia will have its part in promoting and upholding these values.
