16.01 LATO discussion with delegation of the House of Commons, led by D.Anderson, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
18.01 LATO introduces the Gold Member Card for promotion of private sponsorship. The Gold Member Card has already been obtained by a number of private sponsors.
27.01 First LATO and Youth Forum to gather all members of both LATO and Youth organization. The forum was addressed by Mr. Girts Kristovskis, Minister of Defence.

09.02 Conference “Latvia`s membership in NATO - a whim of politicians or a necessity?” organized by LATO, Intellectual`s Union, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence.

21.03 Round table discussion “European security and Defence policy between NATO and EU” organized by LATO and European Movement of Latvia. Participants include N.Grostins - Organization for Baltic Union, I.Graurs - Democratic Party, A.Dimants Chairman of European Movement of Latvia, LATO and media representatives.
26.03 Presentations to the United Kingdom Joint Services Command and Staff College visitors by T.Baumanis and O.Kalnins.

26.04 LATO public debate with a keynote speaker HMA Ms.Alyson Bailes speaking on Europe`s “Role in its own Security”. Respondents: General Sir Garry Jonhson, former Commander-in-Chief, Allied Forces Nothern Europe and Mr.Marcis Gobins, LATO`s International Secretary.

15.05 First Annual meeting of members. LATO board re-elected for the second year term with two new board members elected: Mr. Dimitrij Nikolajev, President of Latvia`s National Commission “Western Russians” and Mr. Marcis Gobins.

02.06 Youth conference “NATO for You and Latvia” organised by LTJK, LATO and Ministry of Defence. Also final round of competition among Latvia`s Secondary Schools, where the winning team - the authors of broshure about NATO issues are announced.
29.06 Panel discussion with Fernando Andresen-Guimaraes, Permanent Representative of Portugal to NATO. The title of the discussion: “Latvia as a member of NATO - Dream or Reality”.
